Yellow Breeches Trip Details 2010

Dates: August 13, 14, and 15 (Friday ,Saturday, Sunday)

Lodging: Allenberry Resort, Boiling Springs PA

Directions to Allenberry: The Allenberry is located about 192 miles from NYC in Boiling Springs, Pa about 30 minutes southwest of Harrisburg.

Checkin: Check in anytime after 3:00 PM on Friday, earlier checkin will be accommodated if room is vacant and prepared. 

Checkout: Checkout is Sunday prior to 12:00 Noon

Meals: Dinners will be served for us as a group, and the Allenberry will have reserved seating set aside for us. Please check with reception at checkin for locations of the meals as the Allenberry varies them from year to year. 

Dinner Friday evening will be at 7:30 PM in the Players Club (downstairs). Saturday the dinner buffet will be at 6:30PM (upstairs) prior to the show. Breakfast Saturday and Sunday will be between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00 AM. Lunch is not included and you are on your own to eat at the Allenberry or at other local establishments in the area. 

Wine and O’deurves will be served on the veranda of the Mansion House on Friday evening around 5PM.

Show: “My Fair Lady” - On Saturday evening the show will take place in the Allenberry playhouse at 8:00PM (doors open at 7:30PM). Tickets will be distributed to you at the dinner buffet before the show. A block of seats have been reserved for our group.

Payment of Trip Package Balance: The per person package cost for the Meadow Lodge is $239 per person double occupancy or for the Mansion House, $326 per person double occupancy. A $50 deposit per person is due by May 4 to lock in the rooms. Please pay the balance of your trip package directly to the Allenberry at checkin / checkout.

Other: Pool, Hot Tub, Tennis Courts, Historic area… (Data will be provided for other activities in the area.)

Nearest Hospital: Should you have a medical issue requiring a visit to the hospital, the Carlisle hospital is located within 15 minutes drive time from the Allenberry. For emergency assistance seek local support via 911.

Fishing: The Yellow Breeches can be accessed directly behind the Allenberry property as well as other locations by car. Other fisheries also exist in the area ( information provided after signup or upon request). The Yellow breeches Outfitter is a full service fly shop located a short drive west (to the left as you exit the Allenberry resort) on route 174. They can provide additional info on fishing areas and specific fly selections to match the then current hatches. PA fishing licenses can also be obtained there.

Cabela’s: You may want to visit the new Cabela’s superstore located in Hamburg PA either on your way to the Allenberry or on your way home. Cabela’s is located just off exit 29 of I-78. In addition to offering quality outdoor merchandise, the massive 250,000 sq. ft. showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats. Store hours are 8AM to 9PM Friday and Saturday, and 10AM to 8PM Sunday.

Antiquing & Factory Outlets: Antiquing can be found throughout PA, as well as numerous factory outlets. The Hershey and Landcaster areas are within an hour drive of the Allenberry.

Other Resort Amenities: The Allenberry property also has tennis courts, a full size swimming pool and a hot tub for those wishing alternative activities and relaxation, so bring your rackets and swim suits if so inclined.

FROM SOUTH I-83 FROM WEST PA TURNPIKE
I-83 to EXIT 41A (Rt. 581 W) Route 76 E to Exit #226 (Carlisle)
Route 581 W to Exit 5B (Rt 15 S) Turn right onto Route 11 S
Proceed with directions for Follow to Carlisle Square (Hanover/High Sts.)
"ROUTE 15 SOUTH" Turn left onto Route 74 S
(1/2 mile Route 74 S bears to right).

FROM HUMMELSTOWN / HERSHEY Proceed with directions for "ROUTE 74 SOUTH"
Route 322 W to I-83 S 
Cross South Bridge ROUTE 15 SOUTH
Follow Rt 581 W to Exit 5B (Rt 15 S) Route 15 S to 74 N (Dillsburg)
Approx. 5 miles to light.

FROM HBG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Turn left onto Route 174 W (Boilings Springs Rd)

(FROM EAST PA TURNPIKE I-76) Allenberry is approx. 1 mile on left
Take exit road to I-283 North (Harrisburg) 
Follow signs to PA Turnpike (Route 76 West) ROUTE 74 SOUTH
Exit PA Turnpike Exit #236 - Gettysburg Route 74 S past I-81 overpass approx. 4 miles
Bear right onto Route 15 South to 2nd traffic light
Proceed with directions for "ROUTE 15 SOUTH" Turn right onto Route 174 W (Boilings Springs Rd)
Allenberry is approx. 1 mile on left.

FROM NORTH I-81 
I-81 to Exit 49, bear right off exit 1/2 block FROM RT 34 (S HANOVER ST, CARLISLE)
Turn left at Trindle Bar & Grill (Fairfield Street) Follow Route 34 to Route 174 E (E OLd Youk Rd)
Follow to Stop sign. Turn left onto Route 74-S Follow Route 174 E into oiling Springs
Proceed with directions for "ROUTE 74 SOUTH" Allenberry is approx. 1/2 mile beyond lake on right
Proceed to second Allenberry sign for Entrance.

FROM SOUTH I-81 
I-81 N to Exit 48, bear right off exit onto Rt 74 S 
Proceed with directions for "ROUTE 74 SOUTH" .
